For Immediate Release

Telnet and Remote Access Communications components to fill the gap in the Microsoft .NET Framework.

Rome, N.Y.- December 20, 2002-

Dart Communications, a leading provider of Internet Development Components and Services, announced today the release of PowerTCP Telnet for .NET. This new addition to Dart’s PowerTCP product line enhances Microsoft’s .NET Framework with native components that add stream-based Telnet, rexec, rsh, and rlogin capability for client to server communications.

PowerTCP Telnet for .NET provides easy-to-use components that allow developers to communicate with Telnet, rexec, rsh, and rlogin servers from their .NET applications. Unlike other Telnet products, PowerTCP Telnet for .NET is specifically designed for both beginners and advanced programmers, offering automated login and option negotiation capabilities that enable software developers to implement solutions with only a few lines of code. Advanced developers can fine-tune their communication requirements through a design-time visual interface that allows access to client and server options. For those that need low-level control, direct access is provided to the underlying data Stream.

"Dart’s PowerTCP Telnet for .NET adds much needed remote access communications capability to the .NET Framework." said Alex Gladshtein, Director of Product Development at Dart. "As we have in the past with ActiveX, our goal is to enable ease-of-use with automation wherever possible, but also provide access to all aspects of the communications process for complete customization."

All components included in PowerTCP Telnet for .NET are designed with a multi-threaded architecture for optimum performance and include a design-time testing environment to maximize the RAD capabilities of Visual Studio .NET. Documentation is natively integrated into the Visual Studio IDE and includes comprehensive tutorials in addition to the reference guide.

PowerTCP Telnet for .NET can be used for projects such as building custom Windows .NET front-end applications for Telnet sessions and for creating back-end ASP.NET or Web Service applications that run SQL commands on a UNIX server and display the results within the browser. Other uses can include controlling or querying network devices such as switches, routers, terminal servers, and hosts.

PowerTCP Telnet for .NET is available immediately. Additional information about this product, and a 30-day trial download, can be found at Dart Communications’ website
